Caludon Castle School was newly rebuilt in 2006 under the Private Finance initiative Scheme. This provides ‘state of the art’ facilities for all areas of the curriculum, underpinned by innovative use of ICT. It is a newly designated Teaching School and is the lead school in the Coventry East Alliance. We are proud of our leading edge training programmes which we offer in support of initial teacher training. Applying for a School Direct place through us will guarantee an exceptional teacher training experience. Caludon Castle is an outstanding school (Ofsted March 2008; November 2011: outstanding in every category), with an excellent record of teacher training. We host a large number of core PGCE and School Direct trainees from many HEI Providers and most trainees achieve a grade 1 outstanding by the end of their training year. Warwick University Ofsted reported: ‘outstanding training provision for all GTP and PGCE trainees, … some of the best feedback to trainees that we have ever seen. The mentor practice is to match those of the very best.’
